This band is the advanced band at the Middle School and we rehearse as a full band every day. Placement in this band is by audition and is open to advanced 7th and 8th graders. The Symphonic Band studies HS level music and many of the performers study privately. We represent our school at the District and State Band Festivals. We also combine with the other MS Bands in performance at all school assemblies, the Veteran's Day performance and Band-O-Rama. Many students participate in the Solo & Ensemble Festival and earn multiple medals in the process. Many students have carried on the tradition of joining the District Honors Band and winning auditions for the MSBOA All-State Band. Recently the Symphonic Band performed at the prestigious 2007 Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids where it premiered "Whale Warriors" written by Brian Balmages to commemorate the occasion.
