This band is a "performing" band at the Middle School; we do not work out of a 'lesson' book in sections, we rehearse as a full band every day. Placement in this 8th grade band is by audition and is open to advanced 7th graders. We represent our school at District and State Band Festivals. We also combine with the other MS Bands in performance at all school assemblies, also the Veteran's Day performance and Band-O-Rama. Students can earn medals through the different Festivals during the year. Many students participate in the Solo & ensemble Festival performing solos or ensembles for a jujdge. This band regularly qualifies for the MSBOA State Festival and has earned many District and State Division I ratings. |
