The Wind Ensemble is the premier group of the Reeths-Puffer High School band program. With a select instrumentation of 45-50 members, the Wind Ensemble performs some of the most advanced windband literature. Displaying a strong tradition of excellence, the The Wind Ensemble has received "Division I" ratings at District and State Band Fesitval since 1992 and was chosen to perform at the Michigan Music Conference in 1998 and 2005.

Chuck Hodson

Charles A. Hodson is in his twenty-sixthth year of teaching instrumental music and his ninteenth year as Director of Bands in the Reeths-Puffer Schools. Prior to coming to Reeths-Puffer, Mr. Hodson had served as an assistant band director and percussion instructor in the Weslaco Public Schools (Texas), and as the Director of Bands in the Hartford Public Schools. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan and the Master of Educational Leadership degree from Western Michigan University. Mr. Hodson has served as an officer in MSBOA (Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association) at the district level and is also active in the Michigan Competing Bands Association and Bands of America. Mr. Hodson serves as the Fine Arts Department Chairman for Reeths-Puffer Schools, and is the director of the High School Wind Ensemble, the Rocket Marching Band, the High School Big Band, and assists with the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade bands.
